Peter Clayton presents at RPP workshop

Our very own Environmental Guru Peter Clayton was recently asked by the Timber Trade Federation to present at the latest Responsible Purchasing Policy Workshop held at the TTF’s headquarters in London on Friday 24th May. The purpose of the workshop was to give members a better understanding of some of the changes to the new RPP format and Peter was specifically talking through the OTP (www.opentimberportal.org) and how it can be used as a tool for risk mitigation of suppliers when purchasing from Africa and specifically from the Cameroon. The presentation led to discussions about the potential short comings of due diligence and how important it is to explain how Operators arrive at their decisions. Having recently visited the Cameroon, Peter was fully equipped to explain his understanding from first hand research which was much appreciated by those in attendance.
